The pandemic created an urgent need for a safe alternative to in-person interviews, while also reducing the time-intensive scheduling that slowed down the hiring process. The team needed a way to screen candidates more efficiently, gain a holistic impression beyond the CV, and make faster decisions.

In 2021, MOIA introduced automated video interviews into its recruitment process — first for drivers, then across all roles. The goal: create a scalable, flexible, and engaging experience for both candidates and hiring teams. 

Candidates received standardised video interview questions, recorded by MOIA’s recruiters, which helped them get a personal first impression of the company. They could complete the interviews at their own pace, while hiring managers reviewed responses whenever it suited them — improving flexibility on both sides. 

By using video, MOIA created a consistent, comparable evaluation process that enhanced fairness, reduced workload, and supported better hiring decisions.

Measurable Impact on Key KPIs

The implementation of video interviews delivered tangible improvements to MOIA’s recruitment metrics: 

⏱ Time-to-Hire reduced by 50%, accelerating the entire process by up to a week 

🎯 No-Show Rate decreased by 14%, thanks to the flexibility of asynchronous interviews 

📈 Response Rate in Active Sourcing reached 46%, boosting engagement significantly 

📅 Scheduling effort eliminated, as interviews were offered instantly post-application
